Goffin & Nakashima through to second round

With plenty of action of on Tuesday at the Good to Great Challenger four seeded players delivered solid results to make it through to the second round.

Former world No 7 David Goffin was challenged by the qualifier Marvin Moeller who started of well and got into an early 3-1 lead in the first set before the Belgian Goffin turned up the speed and claimed 5 straight games to secure the first set 6-3. Moeller tried his best to keep up with Goffin’s tempo but no luck in the second as the Belgian secured his spot in the second round 6-3 6-2.

American 8-seed Brandon Nakashima had a more comfortable route to the second round after a 6-4 6-2 win over Jan Choinski of Great Britain.

Home favourite Leo Borg played Belgian Gauthier Onclin in the first round and Borg raced to 6-2 in the first set while Onclin was forced to medical time-out during the first set. Onclin forced his way back in the second and while serving at 4-4 in the second denying Borg three break points and managed to break Borg taking the second 6-4.

Borg struggled on serve in the third and Onclin took his chances on break points winning the match 2-6 6-4 6-0.
